New Additions to the Paragon Family

We are excited to announce two new additions to the Paragon Family, Chad Robichaux (Black Belt) and his Son Hunter (Purple Belt). Chad and Hunter are in the process of moving their family to Templeton from Texas. Chad and Hunter will primarily be training and teaching out of our Templeton Academy. An extensive Bio on Chad and Hunter is provided below.

Professor Chad “Robo” Robichaux, 2nd Degree Black Belt

Professor Chad Robichaux, known to friends and students as "Robo", is one of the most successful Pro MMA competitors to come out of the Gracie Barra Team with 99% of his wins coming by submission. Prof. Robo is a 2nd Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Black Belt, who has been a martial artist since the age of 5. After a life of martial arts and practicing BJJ since 1996, he was promoted in Brazil to the rank of Black Belt and is a direct black belt of the legendary Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and Multiple Time World Champion, Professor David Vieira Da Silva (UFC TUF Alumni) . Prof. Robo has received his first and second degree rankings from his friend and BJJ hero, BJJ, Prof. Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes, one of the top BJJ and MMA coaches in the world today. Prof. Robo has also had the privilege to train under some of the best striking and wrestling coaches for some of his recent professional fights; such as Muay Thai Champion Daniel Kim, Olympic Team Wrestler Brad Anderson, and UFC Hall of Famer and 5x Champion Randy “The Natural” Couture.

Prof. Robo’s 2nd Degree BJJ Black Belt is certified by the IBJJF and USBJJF Federations, the officiating body of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is also a Black Belt in Traditional Jiu-Jitsu, Okinawan Karate, and is a Black Belt Instructor for the United States Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.

Robo’s resume is equally as impressive, which reflects in his teachings to students to seek your victories on the mats and off the mats.

He has served our nation for over a decade as a Special Operations Force Recon Marine, a Federal Special Agent with the US Federal Air Marshal Service, operated for the Department of Defense (DoD) Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and was a Senior Program Manager for the US State Department in the elite International Surveillance Detection Program.
Robo has served in 8 Special Operations tours of duty in Afghanistan on the War on Terror; he is a Medal of Valor Recipient for his bravery beyond the call of duty in the law enforcement.
Robo holds a PhD and MBA from New York Tech, he is an ordained Pastor from WoodsEdge Church and is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor from the American Association of Christian Counselors.
As the Director of Veteran Affairs for ServingCalifornia.org and Founder of the MightyOaksFoundation.org, Robo leads Veteran Programs for our Military Warriors and their families in reintegration from war and struggles with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Robo considers himself most blessed by the people around him, in addition to his coaches and teammates on the mats, Robo has had the best personal mentors a man can have in Dave Roever and Tx. Legislator Steve Toth. However, Robo would say he is most blessed by his incredible family; his wife of 19 years, Kathy, and his 3 teenagers, Hunter, Haili, and Hayden.

Being the son of the Professor Chad “Robo” isn’t always the easiest job, but it is when you don’t know anything else. Hunter was born into the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle. When he first crawled out of his infant carrier it was on a set of mats, and his training began. Hunter has been competing in BJJ and Wrestling since he was 4 years old and has won more titles than Prof. Robo has. Hunter has completed the entire youth IBJJF Belt System from White Belt through Green Belt, and now an Adult Purple Belt.
In wrestling Hunter competed Varsity his Freshman year, and with pinning 14 Varsity Seniors to include the #4 and 5 ranked wrestlers in Colorado his Coach, and former Olympian, Brad Anderson and Assistant Coach, 5x UFC Champion Randy Couture (yes.. true story) awarded Hunter a Varsity Letter.

At only 17 years old Hunter has a wealth of knowledge in BJJ and Wrestling, and carries his father’s gift for passing that knowledge on through coaching others.
